Watching a kid run around all day is actually enchanting. It’s hilarious to watch someone run around, play, basketball, eat and generally live for a good time. They need naps and fall asleep in the early evening. Kids are great. Watching them makes it clear that the most important things are always right in front of you. It’s way more important to be present with the people, and place you’re in than to be lost in your mind. Having a kid around reminds you what’s it’s like to be uniquely present, to love for who someone is, and to laugh and find joy where you are.
Laughter is the world’s best medicine and it’s a fact that children bring that out naturally for you. Here’s to you, James Sweet! Love you dude. Really excited for your future, man.
