There are two paths. Well there are actually many paths, but it is easier to make a decision when you pretend only two exist.

The first path is safe, comfortable. It has neither rocky terrain, nor bubbling streams. You could walk for days eating the same things, seemingly encountering the same feeling, and therefore the same one reality.

The next path has bumps, but leads to waterfalls, maybe the day is hot, but the destination is worthwhile, there are shady pieces to make you enjoy the journey itself. You brought your favorite lunch. The stream alongside is the fountain of youth. Somedays you find yourself trying a new trail, encountering new obstacles, but you are well equipped given the previous adventures.

If you were to walk the first path for years you would find yourself in the same place you were in the beginning, but even more curious, is the people who chose the next path will be incompatible with the person who chose the first. Although they might have started at the same trailhead, the one who chose risk, learning and growth over comfortable and safe found themselves in higher esteem, higher consciousness. Because what is consciousness really other than to understand ourselves from new perspectives.

Chose to take the risk. Walk the life of your dreams. Even if you find it to be bumpy it will always lead you back home.

"The hope of a secure and livable world lies with disciplined nonconformists, who are dedicated to justice, peace and brotherhood. The trailblazers in human, academic, scientific and religious freedom have always been nonconformists. In any cause that concerns the progress of mankind, put your faith in the nonconformist!" - Martin Luther King, Jr.
