An ancient racetrack and completion grounds with three fountains and the Palazzo Pamphili, the family palace of Innocent X, which is rightfully named a palace with breathtaking architecture and thought that, after traveling some of the Italian cities is almost the cornerstone of knowing you're in Italy.
People love their plazas, their palaces, and took the time to invest in appearance of their landmarks from how they built with beautiful marble or stone to the paintings and sculptures that adorn both the interior and exterior, respectively. It's a paradise of achitecture and the Piazza Navona is especially this kind of place. It is one of the most famous and recognized piazzas in all of Rome. For good reason, people come from all over to see it. It's a sight to behold, and in the many hours I spent dining here I saw performers — tap dancers, singers, and people instruments from all around the world, most of which I didn't recognize. One of the strangest things that happened though is a few hundred or maybe even a thousand bikers coming through the piazza at 11 in the evening. As a tourist, I decided that must be the Tour de France. The tables next to me were of course stunned to, but the one to the left was busy with the light up flying toy he had purchased from someone who approached the table looking to sell any number of gadgets and toys to mostly travelers and tourists.
Of course the cuisine here was great here too! The restaurants have to be good to keep up the prime real estate and views here. I had calzones and bruschetta and, as always, pesto pasta. Italy delivers a good time. And I simply can't emphasize enough how cool it was to be in this plaza.
